When the 150 megawatt Cross Winds Energy Park -- owned by Consumers Energy -- begins operating in 2015, the wind energy facility will reinforce the image of the region known as “Mi Green Thumb.” The Thumb is already home to Michigan Wind I and II, owned by Exelon Energy, which produces energy for Consumers Energy.

The Cross Winds Energy Park project will bring employment, economic and tax benefits to the area, and Consumers Energy will ensure the Cross Winds Energy Park is designed and built in compliance with wind zoning ordinances created to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Tuscola County residents.

As township planning commissions where Cross Winds will be located gather information and make decisions, its members need to hear from area residents who support the development of this state-of-the art wind farm.  We invite everyone who shares our vision for Tuscola County’s future to let their neighbors and local government officials know they support on-shore wind development with the Cross Winds Energy Park project.
